Where Dinno is heading, as of 13 October 2026. This is driven by designer feedback — if something below should move up (or something is missing), tell us.
Per-chapter .indd files with combined/separate front matter and an output folder.
Paragraph-shading boxes that stay with their headings; fill, radius and stroke read per-box from Word.
A4 + manuscript margins, house type ramp, substituted-font report after every convert.
Convert wizard, template mode, update notifications, error recovery, honest run states.
The split's chapters collected into one InDesign Book — book-wide contents (ToC/LoF/LoT), one page-number stream and synchronised styles.
Pick a figures folder and Dinno links the original vector .ai/.svg files by figure number instead of the PNGs extracted from Word; every figure frame ships stroke-free.
Box icons as true anchored objects — they travel with their box when you edit the layout, matching the design team's own recipe.
Cell paragraphs and bullets restored (no more glued lines), the phantom trailing row on headered tables fixed, tables always flush with their column.
See — and select — the documents Split will create before you convert; one checked chapter is a ~20-second proof.
A per-chapter checklist with an overall progress bar while the book converts.
Word's 1×2 definition (purple) and purpose-statement (grey) card tables render as in-flow cards true to the source — square corners, source fill, white-on-dark text, and the Word badge icon in the card's left gutter.
Cells, headers and captions arrive tagged with the template's own paragraph styles
(Table HEADER, Table cell TEXT, Table CAPTION,
Table SUBHEADER+) — so tables land ready for the designer workflow, nothing
looks empty, and the caption style is the correct one.
Stray coloured paragraphs inside Example / scenario cards normalize to the card's body style.
The panel and engine check each other's version on connect — a mismatch shows a red banner and gates the run, so a stale pairing can never silently produce old output.
Small transparent images keep their alpha (no more white squares behind badges and avatars), and
figure frames lose the inherited hairline stroke — with a per-run FIGURE-AUDIT proving
zero offenders.
Foundation team pages render as designed — portrait in the left gutter, the bio window indented beside it, every photo with the right person — and box corner icons anchor to their box even when the source puts them before it.
Page breaks land where Word put them: boxes start their own page, full-page appendix cards get one page each, profile sections flow together, and fabricated blank pages are gone.
Per-figure progress markers name the exact step if a run stalls, and the panel warns when several full-book converts share one InDesign session.
Table captions render in the designer's real style (10 pt regular, purple #8F63E5) instead of the earlier bold-black approximation.
Every built-in paragraph / table / box style checked digit-for-digit against the design team's IDML — the rest already matched exactly and ship unchanged.
The published style-notation standard was rewritten from the shipped values, so the designer-facing contract matches what Dinno produces.
A keep-locked callout no longer inflates the document to the page limit and aborts — the flow detects the deadlock, breaks it locally, and finishes.
In convert-into-open-document mode, Dinno drops the outline number typed into Word text when the template's heading style auto-numbers — "1.2.1" once, not "1.2 1.2.1".
Linked .ai placement no longer freezes on a hidden dialog, and every figure is named
in the run log for pinpointing a problem asset.
Cell bullets still render as a plain glyph, not a true hanging-indent list — fix scheduled next.
Cell lists render with a real hanging indent and per-level indent — wrapped lines align under the text, not under the bullet.
Numbered cell lists restart at 1 per cell instead of continuing from an earlier list.
Box bulleted paragraphs share the same list-aware path, ready to render as real bullets.
Bullet lists at the template's 12/25 indents with true hanging bullets, table headers 10/12, cell text Open Sans Light 9/11, table captions bold black — refreshed from the current template instead of an older snapshot.
Bulleted lists inside cells arrive as their own style (so bulk restyling works), and a cell's title and body no longer merge into one paragraph.
Header rows get the template's minimum height and centred text instead of collapsing to InDesign's 3 pt default.
Emphasised words inside cells keep the template's typeface family — no more Regular where the style says Light.
Foundation and Product re-converted before and after: intended changes are documented, everything else stays byte-identical.
A trainer’s deck builds either book through the same component gate as the Official Book; the speaker notes are split by audience the way the old macros split them.
Every slide is classified with the rule that decided it, and a designer presses a chip to disagree. It replaces a hand-kept list of 151 slide numbers.
A code in the plugin, an approval on this site, and a credential for that one device you can revoke from My devices. Built; enforcing it is part of 1.0.
The cover, contents and list pages hold their pages with a labelled band instead of collapsing to a stub.
The deck is read once; each send is a few hundred bytes. A failed slide does not stop the queue, and the two refusals that would fail every remaining slide keep the queue for one Resume.
Thumbnail, title and “Slide N” in column one, trainer notes in column two — the shape the old macros build. Both books used to come out in the workbook's.
Is a document open, and is the cursor inside a two-column table — asked before the first of eighty-four clicks rather than discovered at a proof.
The first block sits at the measured 2.0 cm; a recap leaves the right number of blank pages on both sides of a spread; the first Syllabus opens a left-hand page. None of the three was true before, and none of them was raising an error.
Text that does not fit, a colour Dinno had to invent, a swatch in the wrong colour space, and a panel that has stopped answering all reach the person doing the work.
0.7.1 opened as a blank white panel on a designer’s machine. 0.7.2 fixes the cause, and a panel that cannot start now says so in plain words.
A tab in the InDesign panel: Check, Settings, Export. A finished, checked EPUB from your own InDesign book, made on a working copy so your files stay as they are.
On the engine: links, language, page list, QR codes and an honest accessibility statement; then epubcheck, DAISY Ace and every picture’s description. A report of every check and fix beside your file.
Your template’s styles matched to what Dinno sends, styles inside style groups included, shared with colleagues as a file; applied on every send into your template.
Frames and tables take your master pages’ margins, not Word’s; a table shrinks to its column and keeps Word’s proportions.
The typed number goes where your heading style numbers itself; a table bullet prints once, on your “Table bullet” style.
A Word transfer starts on the page you choose and links each chapter’s sections into one text thread.
A later Convert never closes it unsaved; contents and list pages stay reserved for InDesign’s own lists; your masters, page setup and numbering are left alone.
A refused send gives the engine’s reason in plain words and a reference support can find; Word stops waiting after 15 minutes. The InDesign panel renews its own sign-in token.
Read-only tools for your styles, your margins and a transfer’s scorecard, plus the ePub check and export, from ChatGPT or Claude.
Key Message, Definition and Tip boxes on the box styles you choose in the Mapping tab, with your template’s own icon inside the box.
A table style, a header cell style and a body cell style chosen in the Mapping tab, applied to every table as InDesign’s own styles.
Word’s typed number goes only after your style is shown to print the same one; unnumbered headings stay unnumbered.
Work, Styles and Export, with progress that says what is happening, and Smart Text Reflow given back after a transfer.
The ChatGPT plugin, connected to the engine’s tools.
Sign-in with Microsoft Entra ID, signing keys in Dinno’s own vault, and dinno.peoplecert.org, switched on with the 1.0 deploy.
A step where a person approves each picture’s description, so the ePub gate can pass. Until it exists, the gate reports “not passed” on books with pictures.
Larger body text, fewer words split at line ends, and in-text references (“Figure 2.3”) as links — where Aptara’s ePub still reads better (measured).
Uploaded manuscripts are unpublished IP — encrypted in transit and at rest, and removed on a defined retention clock. Today uploads, renders and ePub jobs are swept on timers.
Per-user quotas and graceful busy states, so one big book never blocks the team.
One-click PDF export of the assembled Book, and an option to start every chapter on a right-hand page.
The panel step that inspects the composed book, flags layout issues and proposes fixes. (Its placeholder already shows in the run sequence.)
A second executor that lays out proofs without InDesign — instant drafts from the same plan.
External links and endnote references preserved end-to-end.
A reported case where a box's border swallows the paragraph after it — not reproducible on the Product manuscript; investigation resumes when the Foundation manuscript arrives.
